September 2026 is IIH Awareness Month

Many Voices, One Mission

Many Voices, One Mission

September is recognized as idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) awareness month.

IIH-Hub was created for the public to find evidence-based information on IIH and to be a safe space to connect with others.

When we think about what IIH Awareness Month means to us, we believe our community has many voices with the same mission, with a unified voice. We can promote awareness by sharing your medical journey with our community, educating providers through our webinars, and by taking action at a legislative level. Together we can achieve the same goal by petitioning for equal access to care, funding for research, and affordable treatment options.

Whether you are undiagnosed, in remission, a provider, or a caregiver, collectively we are here for the same reason, to support each other.

To commence IIH Awareness Month, we will be hosting the Director of Patient Programs at the EveryLife Foundation for Rare Diseases, Stephanie Riordan. She leads national programs focused on advocacy, storytelling, and community engagement. She was diagnosed with IIH in 2015 and has dedicated her career to empowering others with rare disease. “Living with IIH feels like being part of an experiment none of us signed up for. I’ve had to become an informed self-advocate and stay open to challenging my own assumptions, remaining flexible when things change.”
