Neuro-Ophthalmologist, Dr. Kupersmith, discusses and answers questions on IIH

On September 8th, 2025, we hosted Dr. Mark Kupersmith for a Q&A session on IIH and neuro-ophthalmology topics. Dr. Kupersmith is a renowned neuro-ophthalmologist who currently practices at Union Square Eye Care in New York City. He has decades of experience in treating and conducting research on a wide range of eye conditions, including idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH).

Dr Kupersmith is well-published in countless topics of neuro-ophthalmology including IIH. He is also the head of the Neuro-Ophthalmology Research Disease Investigator Consortium (NORDIC), “a cohesive and extensive group of Neuro-Ophthalmologists, other doctors, coordinators, biostatisticians, clinical trial experts and reading centers, who have developed a structured organization to perform prospective clinical research with the support of the National Eye Institute of the NIH, other funding agencies, and industry.”

During this Q&A session, the forum was opened to both practitioners and patients. Dr. Pierre Gobin was the moderator for this webinar. He is a neurointerventionalist at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York and has more than 30 years of experience in treating cerebrovascular conditions. He also has pioneered research on causes of IIH such as venous sinus stenosis.
